Check Out the New Job Vacancies Feature on International School Community!

January 19, 2018

It is finally here. You can now find job vacancy posts on the International School Community website!

vacancies

With the ability to now search for and find jobs at international schools, ISC now seems more complete. Instead of having to wait for a school itself to post these vacancies on ISC, we have designed our vacancies page to be run by our members instead.

If a member hears about some jobs available at their school, then we thought those members would be the perfect people to post the vacancies on ISC. It is quite easy to post a vacancy. You can do so here on your My Account page.

vacancies

We encourage our members to post international school job vacancies that they know about. Earn one free week of premium membership for each job vacancy you post! (after our admin approves the submitted post) *All job postings will be done so anonymously.

If you go to a school profile page on our website, you’ll now also see a Vacancies page in the left side column. Once clicked, then you will see all the posted vacancies on our website related to that school.

vacancies

Even if the vacancies have been expired, we plan to keep them there so that you can see which positions were available at this school over time. That data should be quite useful information when job searching.

Once you click on a vacancy you will see this page:

vacancies

We have put in all the necessary information a vacancy listing should have. We have also put in the links you want to click on. For example, a link to apply for the position on the school’s website, a link to that school’s profile page on ISC so you can check out all the latest comments and reviews, etc.

Check our vacancies page often, as our hope is that it will be consistently updated with new vacancies every day/week!

With all new features, we benefit from your feedback. Have a look at our new vacancies pages, and if you see an area for improvement, feel free to let us know via our contact us page.

New features on International School Community #3: Members List page and School profile page

March 1, 2012

International School Community’s goal is to have a website where our members can find international school teachers in which to easily contact and network.  Thus we are always working on improving the organization of our website and its features to better serve our members.

We have updated our Members List page to include a sorting feature.  Now visitors and members are able to sort our 324 (03 March, 2012) members more effectively now.  It is now possible to sort the list by Newest First, First Name, Last Name, Current School and By Location (also being able to sort these lists by Descending or Ascending order).  Go ahead and try it out and start contacting our members and networking today.  Who knows who you might find?!

We have also just completed two more updates to the school profile pages.  Now there is a Youtube video that can be found sometimes on a school’s profile page.  If there is one available, then it will show up under the map features.

The video shown will be related to the school, typically a review or overview of the school from the school itself.

The other update on the school profile page is the school’s Facebook feature.  If the school has a Facebook page that they update with the news from their school, it will now show up on the school’s profile page on our website.  The feature can be found under the Members of this School feature.

We now have 1126 (3 March, 2012) international school profile pages on our website.  Sign-on to our website and check out the new video and facebook updates on these schools!

There are many more improvements to come so stay tuned!

International School Community is indeed the new place to go to gather and share information about life at international schools.  Become a member of International School Community today!  You currently get 1 month of free premium access to our website when you sign up.  If you are already a member of International School Community, share what you know and submit some comments and information about the international schools you know about today!

New features on International School Community #2: Number of comments, school profile views counter, and more!

February 9, 2012

International School Community’s goal is to have a website where the information that international school teachers want to know about is very easy to find.  Thus we are always working on improving the organization of our website and its features to better serve our members.

We now have 1095 (9 February, 2012) international school profile pages on our website.  On each school provide pages there are many, many different features and information. We have made some more changes on our school profile page.  Now there is a statistic showing the number of views on each school profile.  You can find this statistic under the link to the school’s website.

Which international schools are our members most interested in checking out?  Now you can check out which international school is the one that is most popular; the one that has been viewed the most, on our homepage under the Requested Schools to Be Reviewed section.  As of today the top school that has been viewed the most is Island Academy Antigua.

Another feature that has been added on the school profile page is the ‘city’ link.  Now members interested in working in a specific city in the world will find it easier to get to the other international school listed in that city on our website.  They can simply just click on the city’s name which can be found near the top of the school profile pages.  After you click on the city link, you will be transferred to the schools list page with the list of that city’s international schools opening up automatically.

We have also added some new widgets on the left side of the school profile page.  One section is called “Other schools in this country” which will display the other international schools listed in this country on our website.  The other section is called “Related schools” which will display other schools that meet the same search criteria as the one you are viewing.  These features are meant to help members to get to the other schools that are of interest to them much faster!

Another improvement has been made on the schools list page.  Now the number of comments and information that have been submitted for a certain school will show up next to the school’s name on the schools list.

There are many more improvements to come so stay tuned!

New features on International School Community #1: The new and improved School Profile Page!

January 31, 2012

International School Community’s goal is to have a website where the information that international school teachers want to know about is very easy to find.  Thus we are always working on improving the organization of our website and its features to better serve our members.

Recently, we have made some changes on our school profile page:

We now have 1083 (31 January, 2012) international school profile pages on our website.  On each school provide pages there are many, many different features and information.  One of the most important sections on this page is where members can read and submit comments and information.

In turn, our comments and information section has been revamped.  Now the four comment categories (School Information, Benefits Information, City Information and Travel Information) are on tabs. This change was made so that members could go from one section to the other much easier and faster.

The City and Travel Information sections have also changed.  Now they been linked up with other school profile pages that share they same city.  For example, if a members has left comments and information in the City Information section on an international school in Shanghai, those submitted comments will now show up on all the other international schools in Shanghai listed on our website!  Now it will be much easier to access information about the city and travel information on international school profile pages that share the same city!

Another improvement made has been with how our members view, write, submit, and then edit or delete their submitted comments on each school profile page.  For each topic in the four comment sections members will now be able to only view the last 3-4 comments submitted and the dates they were submitted.

Then to read all the comments that have actually been submitted, members can now click on the “Show more” link.  In a pop-up screen members will be able to read every submitted comment and information (in full) for that section’s topic.  Members can also submit a new comment on this pop-up screen at the bottom.

From this pop-up screen members are now able to edit or delete one of their previously submitted comments.  Only the member that has submitted the comment will see the “Edit” and “Delete” buttons; other members are not able to edit or delete other member’s comments.

There are more improvements to come!
