19 Dec, 2025 PARENTS ONLY - General comments from parents of students that go to this school. How was your child's education and socialisation at the school?: As a parent, I have seen the school begin to shift toward prioritizing student well-being, which feels both important and overdue. There is significant academic pressure from families, with very high expectations for student performance, and the school often reflects that mindset. This has historically meant a strong focus on achievement and outcomes.
In that environment, neurodivergent students have often been left behind. When systems are designed mainly around high academic performance, there is less flexibility and fewer meaningful supports for learners who need something different. While well-being is talked about more now, the structures to truly support neurodiverse learners have lagged. MTSS, for example, is only just being introduced to teachers in 2025, which has been surprising for families coming from other school systems.
As a parent, this has meant a lot of advocacy and, at times, relying on outside support. I do see movement in a more positive direction, but the balance between academic pressure and inclusive, systematic support is still very much a work in progress.
