The journey to work is indeed an important one. \u00a0The journey though is not so clear for international school teachers when they are looking for jobs at schools in\u00a0cities\/countries to which they have never been. \u00a0So let’s share what we know!<\/p>\n

One of our members, who works\u00a0at the\u00a0Jerudong International School<\/a>\u00a0(Brunei)<\/span>, described his way to work there as follows:<\/p>\n

The road to Jerudong International School…<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Brunei, a small country on the island of Borneo, which is famous for its\u2019 lush jungle and wildlife. Brunei is a beautiful country with views of lush green jungle on almost any journey.<\/span><\/p>\n

Working at Jerudong International School means we have an option of taking the school allocated housing close to school or taking an allowance and going further out. <\/span><\/p>\n

My wife and I being a teaching couple choose to stay close to school at Armada Housing (Rimba Estate). The journey itself is a 6 minute drive with hardly any traffic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Armada Housing has literally been cut out of the jungle to make a complex which is safe and secure comprising of a gym, swimming pool and a variety of different housing styles ranging from 4 bed houses to penthouses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our morning generally starts in a relaxing manner when we wake up between 4.30-5am to shower, followed by mediation\/prayer. We eat breakfast then start our journey to school around 7am.<\/span><\/p>\n

We choose to drive, but there are a few colleagues who bike through the jungle every morning. The drive takes us out of Armada Housing, on to the highway with views of the jungle on either side. We then get off at the JIS exit when the DST tower is on our left (5th tallest building in Brunei, a mere 71m\/14 floors), where we then drive up to one of four entrances to park our car.<\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, a swift and efficient journey to school. <\/span><\/p>\n
