Being that these changes have now become your new routines, you tend to forget about the things you used to do!<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by this blog entry by the Kirby Family,<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/5fortheroad.blogspot.com\/2011\/06\/things-i-have-not-done-in-year.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Things I Have Not Done in a Year<\/strong><\/a>, we invite our readers and members to discuss their list of things that they haven\u2019t done in a year (or more for that matter).<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/5fortheroad.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-width: 3px; border-color: black; border-style: solid;\" title=\"Screen shot 2012-02-28 at 6.58.54 PM\" src=\"http:\/\/internationalschoolcommunity.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/02\/screen-shot-2012-02-28-at-6-58-54-pm.png?w=600&#038;resize=432%2C117\" alt=\"\" width=\"432\" height=\"117\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The following is the list from the Kirby Family blog:<\/p>\n<p><em>In the past year I have not . . .<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>1) Driven a car.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>2) Worn a seatbelt while riding in a car.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>3) Used a vacuum.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>4) Used a dishwasher.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>5) Used a dryer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>6) Cooked anything in an oven.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>7) Said \u201cit\u2019s cold\u201d except when I was in an overly air conditioned movie theater, bus, restaurant ect.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>8) Eaten steak, or really any form of beef.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>9) Gone a day without eating rice.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>10) Walked anywhere without carefully watching where I step so I can avoid the many creepy crawlies and the occasional elephant poop.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>11) Walked into a public restroom expecting to find any of the following: a western toilet, toilet paper, soap or paper towels or any means of drying your hands.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>12) I have not flushed toilet paper down the toilet.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>13) Gone a day without smiling and laughing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It has been a great year and I will miss so many things about Thailand and I am looking forward to the day I get to come back again.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you are living in a \u201cdeveloping country\u201d or a more \u201ctropical climate\u201d country like Thailand, you might be able to related to some of these statements for your past year or two.
