{"id":129,"date":"2012-01-03T14:47:11","date_gmt":"2012-01-03T14:47:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/internationalschoolcommunity.com\/blog\/?p=129"},"modified":"2012-10-15T09:44:57","modified_gmt":"2012-10-15T09:44:57","slug":"blogs-of-international-school-teachers-school21c-conversations-about-21st-century-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/internationalschoolcommunity.com\/blog\/blogs-of-international-school-teachers-school21c-conversations-about-21st-century-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Blogs of international school teachers: School21C \u2013 Conversations about 21st Century Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Are you inspired to start up a blog about your adventures living abroad?<\/p>\n<p>Our 14th blog that we would like to highlight is called \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/school21c.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>School21C \u2013 Conversations about 21st Century Education<\/strong><\/a>.\u201d\u00a0 Check out the blog entries of this international school director who is currently working at <a href=\"http:\/\/schoolnet.isp.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International School of Prague<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/school21c.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-width: 3px; border-color: black; border-style: solid;\" title=\"Screen shot 2012-01-02 at 6.21.09 PM\" src=\"http:\/\/internationalschoolcommunity.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/screen-shot-2012-01-02-at-6-21-09-pm.png?w=283&#038;h=105&#038;fit=283%2C105&#038;resize=283%2C105\" alt=\"\" width=\"283\" height=\"105\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>An entry that we would like to highlight:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/school21c.org\/2011\/10\/05\/journey-to-jordan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Journey to Jordan<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI recently visited Amman, Jordan to attend a board of trustees meeting of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecis.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Council of International Schools<\/a>\u00a0(ECIS)\u00a0in my capacity as board chair and Director of the <a href=\"http:\/\/schoolnet.isp.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International School of Prague<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It was the first time I had visited Jordan and having read and heard so much about the \u201cArab Spring\u201d and\u00a0upheaval\u00a0throughout\u00a0the region,\u00a0I wasn\u2019t sure what to expect. I am happy to report that upon my arrival and during my entire stay, I encountered a peaceful, open and welcoming people and society. I found everyone I met to be friendly, warm and happy to discuss any topic, from art to politics.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.asg.edu.jo\/Default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ahliyyah School for Girls<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>While the tour of Amman was spectacular, our visit to the Aliyah School for Girls (ASG) was inspiring and moving. The Ahliyyah School for Girls is primarily for Jordanian girls from kindergarten through high school. The ECIS board was treated to a very warm welcome during an assembly in which ASG high school girls\u00a0spoke with pride about their school, danced in traditional costumes, presented a theatrical performance and soulfully sang for the audience. After the performances, former graduates of the school spoke about their\u00a0unforgettable\u00a0experiences as students at ASG and how the school prepared them well to enter the world as confident women and leaders.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The time spent in Amman and at ASG was a moving experience\u00a0personally\u00a0and professionally that I will always remember.\u00a0While my stay was short, I promised our hosts that I would return one day, to fully experience this special part of the Middle East.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There is so much we can learn when we visit other international schools around the world, especially international schools that are similar to the one that we are currently working at in our career.\u00a0 It is also nice to have another co-worker\/s to come along with you to bounce ideas off of.\u00a0 Another perk is that you also inevitably learn more about the host country and culture as you are visiting there, which will help to broaden your cultural understanding of the world\u2026which in turn you can infuse into your teaching practice as you interact with your international students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.internationalschoolcommunity.com\/school_main.php?id=986\" target=\"_blank\">Ahliyyah School for Girls profile page<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.internationalschoolcommunity.com\/school_list.php\" target=\"_blank\">International School Community<\/a>.\u00a0 Currently, there are 8 international schools listed in Jordan on our website, with 7 of them being in Jordan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>If you are an international school teacher and would like your blog highlighted on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.internationalschoolcommunity.com\/home.php\" target=\"_blank\">International School Community<\/a> contact us <a href=\"http:\/\/www.internationalschoolcommunity.com\/contact_us.php\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you inspired to start up a blog about your adventures living abroad?
